The Battlefords Union Hospital Foundation
The Battlefords Union Hospital (BUH) Foundation is a public Foundation (April, 1992) dedicated to the enhancement of patient care by acting as the fundraising agency for Battlefords Union Hospital. The BUH Foundation, operating independently of other health care organizations, supports funding for the purchase of capital equipment and staff education, thus enhancing patient care services at Battlefords Union Hospital.
The BUH Foundation accomplishes its mission by fostering goodwill within the community. This in turn generates financial contributions in the form of sponsorships, donations and planned giving to enhance the care offered to BUH patients.
Why? We all benefit from quality healthcare. To family, friends and neighbors this means modern and efficient diagnosis and treatment available close to home.
The Major fundraising events operated on an annual basis by BUH Foundation are:
- BUH Foundation Monthly Lottery
- Wayne Pruden Memorial Golf Tournament
- $100,000 Cash Lottery
- BUH Foundation Festival of Trees
Diversified fundraising programs also include:
- donations from area service clubs and organizations
- personal and memorial donations
- bequests through wills, insurance policies and charitable annuity trusts
The Battlefords Union Hospital Foundation is governed by a Board of Directors. The Board is made up of a maximum of 12 directors. The directors serve three consecutive 2-year terms, for a maximum of 6 years of service.
Our Directors bring to the Board a variety of backgrounds, offering their unique skills and talents to ensure the Foundation’s success.
The Foundation Board is a working Board. Members serve on various committees, such as one of the fundraisers or other ongoing projects.
All board members contribute their time and effort without any payment or benefit, other than the satisfaction of contributing to the community.

The Foundation office is located in the main lobby of Battlefords Union Hospital at 1092 - 107th Street in North Battleford, Saskatchewan. All proceeds raised through the BUH Foundation Canteen and Gift Shoppe help enhance patient care at BUH through the purchase of medical equipment.
